The SLFA Inc. Senior Women’s competition continued on Monday at the Desruisseaux Playing Field with an exciting doubleheader.
In the opening match, Vieux Fort South triumphed over Desruisseaux with a commanding score of 6-1. VFS established a dominant 4-0 lead by halftime, showcasing their offensive prowess.
Freegeanne Joseph led the scoring for Vieux Fort South with a hat-trick, netting goals in the 10th, 60th, and converting a penalty in the 67th minute. Jerdel King Henry also shone with three goals in the 11th, 33rd, and 39th minutes. Alyssia Emmanuel managed to find the back of the net for Desruisseaux in the 75th minute.
In the second match, Dennery edged out Central Castries in a tightly contested game, finishing 3-2. After an action-packed first half that ended in a 1-1 draw, Dennery secured their victory with a decisive goal in the second half.
Faye Fregis was instrumental for Dennery, scoring twice in the 15th and 83rd minutes, while Joy Anne Charlery added another goal in the 67th minute. Central Castries’ efforts came from Lisa Evelyn and Kennya Richard, who scored in the 28th and 45th minutes, respectively.
The competition continues to provide thrilling matches as teams vie for the top spots in the league.
