The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. and the Local Organising Committee are diligently preparing for the upcoming home matches of the CONCACAF Nations League.
Saint Lucia is set to compete in two exciting matches at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground (DSCG) on Friday, September 25th, and Monday, September 28th.
A recent venue inspection raised concerns about the dry conditions of the outfield; however, grounds personnel assured the committee that the surface will be match-ready and compliant with Aconcagua’s expectations.
The local training squad is currently gearing up for the tournament under the leadership of Interim Head Coach Francis “Baba” Lastic, with the final team roster expected to be finalized this week.
Match Schedule:
Friday, September 25th:
– Guadeloupe vs. Bermuda – 3:00 p.m.
– Saint Lucia vs. Barbados – 8:00 p.m.
Monday, September 28th:
– Guadeloupe vs. Barbados – 3:00 p.m.
– Saint Lucia vs. Bermuda – 8:00 p.m.
The SLFA Inc. has announced a $25 entry fee for patrons attending the matches. This one-time ticket allows access to both matches on September 25th and 28th. Additionally, since the matches are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. each day, a system will be implemented for patrons to leave and re-enter the ground without needing to purchase a new ticket.
In other news, the SLFA Inc. has rescheduled the final trials for the Under 15 Girls and Under 13 Boys teams. The trials, previously set for Wednesday, September 16th, will now take place on Saturday, September 19th, at the SLFA Technical Centre in Mabouya Valley.
Trial Schedule:
Saturday, September 19th:
– Girls: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
– Boys: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
These final trials will be instrumental in selecting players for the High Performance Centre (HPC). Leagues are reminded to inform their players regarding the change of date and transportation arrangements.
