Action in the Castries Super League (CSL) continued on Sunday May 3rd with a double header kicking off at 12:00 pm. The third match of the day was postponed at the request of the Police team due to the deployment of many of their members at mass crowd activities related to the fringe events of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. This match will be rescheduled for the upcoming week.
In the first match of the day Valley Soccer were looking to maintain their lead at the top of the table while their opponent Lancers FC were looking to rebound from a defeat in their last match. The match evolved into a goal scoring contest among the tournament’s three leading goal scorers; Dennon George of Lancers FC, Nakeem Joseph and Mervin St. Romain of Valley Soccer.

Lancers FC got off to the good start when their talisman Denon George gave them a 1 – 0 lead. Valley Soccer answered through Nakeem Joseph to tie the game, but George scored again to give Lancers FC the 2-1 advantage. Not to be outdone St. Romain equalized for Valley Soccer and the teams looked poised to share the points. However, Kallum Marius recorded his first goal of the tournament in the dying moments to secure the three points for Valley Soccer.
In the second match, although defending champions VSADC inflicted a heavy on-field defeat on NYAH FC by a score of 20 – 0 this scoreline was rendered null and void as it was later discovered that both teams committed violations related to player eligibility thus nullifying the results of the match. This result keeps VSADC three points behind Valley Soccer.
Heading into the final round of matches on May 17th once Valley Soccer avoids defeat versus winless NYAH FC the odds are heavily in their favor to secure their first ever Castries Super League title.
