Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School (VFCSS) has been crowned champions of the Under-19 Inter-Schools Netball Competition after edging Micoud Secondary School (MSS) in a nail-biting final on Friday, November 14, at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. The tournament, organized by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, showcased some of Saint Lucia’s brightest young netball talent.

In the final, Micoud Secondary appeared unsettled by the height and physical presence of VFCSS’s Goal Shoot, Goal Attack, and Goal Defense. Despite their competitive spirit, Micoud struggled to find rhythm against a VFCSS team that applied relentless pressure.
The tightly contested matchup ended 31–30 in favor of Vieux Fort Comprehensive. Quarter scores were 7–5, 13–11, 24–19, and 31–30, illustrating how narrow the margin remained throughout.
VFCSS was led by an exceptional performance from Goal Shoot Deriscia Mitchell, who converted 22 of her 26 attempts. Goal Attack Neriah Charlery added nine goals from 14 attempts to help seal the victory.
For Micoud Secondary, Goal Shoot Mekeige Joseph scored 18 from 29 attempts, while Goal Attack Clarise Nervais contributed 12 from 20.

In the third-place playoff, Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) defeated Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School 28–25. SALCC dominated early with quarter scores of 9–3, 16–8, and 23–15, but Soufriere mounted a determined comeback before ultimately falling short.
For SALCC, Goal Shoot Neanna Francois netted seven from 10 attempts, while Goal Attack Cleah Cazabon delivered an impressive 12 from 14. Keley Monlouis added nine from 13 attempts, expertly alternating between Goal Shoot and Goal Attack.
Soufriere’s scoring came from Goal Shoot Kheryss Ferguson (13 from 23), Goal Attack Indiana James (8 from 16), and Harrel Williams (4 from 6).
The tournament once again highlighted the depth of netball talent across Saint Lucia. VFCSS’s accuracy and composure under pressure earned them the championship crown, while SALCC’s balanced attacking unit secured a well-deserved third-place finish.
