Two killed in weekend shootings

Two men died in separate shootings over the weekend.

An emergency crew responded to the first incident on Saturday night around 9:10 p.m. in Marchand. Upon arrival, officers were directed by police to an adult male lying on his back.

Fire officials said the man was unresponsive and showed no signs of life. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the side of the head.

In a second incident, emergency personnel were called shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Sunday to Millet, Anse La Raye.

On arrival, responders found another adult male lying on his side. He was unresponsive, with no signs of life and had sustained a gunshot wound to the frontal region of the head.

Police have taken over both scenes and are continuing to investigate the shootings.
