Police identify body found at La Pansee, Castries

Police have officially identified the man whose body was discovered at an abandoned house in La Pansee, Castries, over the weekend.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) said in a statement that officers from the Criminal Investigations Department responded to the report at around 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Police said the body of a man was found inside a house in the La Pansee community with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. A medical practitioner later confirmed he was dead at the scene.

The man has been identified as 48-year-old Christopher John Edward of La Pansee, Castries.

When St Lucia Times first reported the story, there was a lot of speculation online about the man’s identity, but official confirmation was not yet available.

Police say the investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and a post-mortem examination will be done at a later date.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754. Anonymous tips can also be given by calling 555, the Crime Hotline, or by using the RSLPF Crime Hotline App on the Google Play Store.
