
Denver Alphonse Jr. showcased an outstanding performance at the National Cycling Championships this past weekend, claiming victory in both the Road Race and Individual Time Trial events.
In the 24km Time Trial, Denver clocked an impressive time of 38.00.40, finishing with a remarkable lead of 6 minutes and 10 seconds ahead of his closest competitor.
Fidel Esnard secured second place with a time of 44.10.03, while Joshua Celestin rounded out the podium in third at 53.44.24.
In the 81km Road Race, Denver continued his winning streak, crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 43 seconds, leaving a time gap of 9 minutes and 28 seconds to the runner-up. Fidel Esnard claimed second place with a time of 2 hours, 35 minutes, and 11.69 seconds, followed by Eltus Joseph, who finished third in 2 hours, 49 minutes, and 47.09 seconds.
Looking ahead, Alphonse Jr., the reigning National Champion of Saint Lucia, is set to depart for Martinique on June 24, to begin preparations for the Tour of Martinique.
The prestigious event starts on July 3 and will cover a challenging 1317km over nine days, with 137 riders expected to participate.
Denver will represent KCS KARAIBE CULTURE SPORT, training under the expert guidance of French coach Alex Noreskal and Saint Lucian coach Cyril Mangal.
