Three homicides recorded over four-day period

Police are investigating three homicides recorded over a four-day period, following two fatal shootings in Soufriere and a stabbing in Dennery.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said the first incident occurred in the early hours of Christmas Eve when officers attached to the Soufriere Police Station responded to reports of gunshots at Palmiste, Soufriere, at about 1:50 a.m.

According to police, officers arrived to find a male lying in a supine position with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported by the Saint Lucia Fire Service ambulance to the Soufriere Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified as 25-year-old Kenton Henry of Victoria, Choiseul.

Just hours later, another fatal shooting was reported in the same community.

Police said that at about 8:10 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire, and on arrival, they discovered a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was also transported to the Soufriere Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The second victim was named, Lintus Charles, 35, of Palmiste, Soufriere.

The third homicide occurred on Sunday, December 28, when officers attached to the Dennery Police Station responded to a report of a stabbing on Church Street, Dennery, at about 5:23 a.m. Police were informed that the victim had already been transported to the Owen King EU Hospital by ambulance.

Shortly after, officers were advised that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as 21-year-old Fernandes Emmanuel of Green Mountain, Dennery.

Police are urging anyone with information relating to the three incidents or any other criminal activity to contact the nearest police stations, the Major Crimes Unit, or report anonymously via the Crime Hotline at 555 or through the Crime Hotline app
