Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre is attending the 50th regular meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, from February 24 to 27.

The meeting, under the theme Beyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM, will discuss regional priorities, including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), climate financing, regional security, reparations and other pressing regional, hemispheric and global issues.

A government release said that Saint Lucia, which will take over the CARICOM chairmanship later this year, has pledged to work collaboratively with regional partners to support the implementation of decisions and to sustain momentum on key regional objectives.

The opening ceremony will be held on February 24 at 4 p.m.

The CARICOM Secretariat has launched a dedicated hub at  https://caricom.org/50hgc, offering programme details, thematic briefs, media resources, speaker profiles, and livestream access to the opening ceremony and closing media conference.
