Two men from Laborie have been charged with drug-related offences following joint operations conducted by units of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force on January 10.
Police say that during a search of a residence in Black Bay, Laborie, officers seized 23.2 pounds of suspected cannabis at the home of Leroy Willie. Authorities also recovered EC$765 in cash, believed to be proceeds of drug-related activities, with the drugs estimated to have a street value of EC$10,440, according to a police statement.
Officers reported that six cannabis plantations were discovered in the surrounding area, resulting in the seizure and destruction of 1,368 cannabis plants.
Leroy Willie was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, and cultivation of a controlled plant.
Another resident of the same household, 44-year-old Glenroy Willie, was arrested on January 11 following further investigations. Police say he faces similar drug-related charges.
According to authorities, the arrests resulted from three targeted searches in Soufrière, Choiseul and Laborie by officers from the police Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Tactical Response Unit, and the Special Services Unit.
Both men were due to appear before a magistrate on January 13, 2026.
