Olympic champion Julien Alfred sped to the women’s 100 metres victory at the athletics Diamond League meeting in Oslo’s Bislet Stadium on Wednesday (10 June).

The Saint Lucian history maker, having won her nation’s first-ever Olympic medal – gold in the women’s 100m – at Paris 2024, clocked 10.76 seconds.
Team GB’s Amy Hunt was second at 10.99, while New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs took third with 11.03.
“I am healthy and I am happy to get the win here,” said Alfred afterward. “Before I came here, my mental coach said to me, ‘When you be yourself, it is the most powerful thing that you can do’. And I think I learn more and more from my experiences.”
Hobbs was best out the blocks but Alfred wasted no time asserting her dominance, pushing to the front by 20m and never looking back. By the time she crossed the finish, she was well clear of the competitors.
As Hobbs progressed, she found herself in a fight for second with Hunt, and eventual fourth and fifth place-finishers Mink Bisschops of the Netherlands (11.06) and Hungary’s Boglárka Takács (11.08).
Alfred’s win is part of a strong start to her 2026 Diamond League season that has already seen her grab the top spot in the women’s 200m when the circuit stopped in Rome on 4 June.
Beyond her strong results, the 25-year-old is simply relishing her competitive opportunities as they come.
“Just being here, racing amongst the best athletes in the world, like I said, I am appreciating every chance I get to run,” she reflected. “I love the competitiveness in the 100m right now. It keeps me on my toes to go out there and compete and be at my best every single time I line up. So I have no complaints right now.”
